VR Business Club in cooperation with HTC VIVE and Gleiss Lutz in Stuttgart

At the VR Business Club event in Stuttgart, which took place in cooperation with HTC VIVE and Gleiss Lutz, everything revolved around “World change: Metaverse, artificial intelligence and law in dialog”.

After June Hsieh and Prof. Dr. Eric Wagner welcomed the participants, the organizer moderated the event. Moritz Stilz spoke about legal challenges in the metaverse, while Fabian Nappenbach presented the latest XR technologies and the ViveVerse for business use.

In the startup pitches, Miguel Fernández from 3spin Learning presented VR and AR training solutions without programming knowledge, Tino Ochs from EXP360 presented a cloud platform for immersive media, Bernhard Baer from baermedia GmbH & Co. KG collaborative VR applications, Georg Fuhrmann from LIGHTSHAPE GmbH & Co. KG marketing applications in the metaverse and Grzegorz Mucha from 4RESULTS use cases for VR team building.

The panel with June Hsieh, Eric Wagner, Bernhard Baer and Michael Aechtler discussed the most exciting new hardware developments and trends in the VR industry, the areas of application of various metaverse platforms and the challenges posed by a lack of interoperability. The current legal hurdles in the metaverse and progress in Germany and Europe were also discussed.

The conclusion was that solutions should not be offered across the board for all areas of the company. Instead, the focus should be on where there is a specific need and where the solution generates real added value. Regulatory hurdles can be overcome, but it takes the right people, effort and resources to overcome these hurdles.

The final statements were positive: The current time is one of the most exciting, in which science fiction scenarios of the 80s have become reality. We should not wait for technologies to improve further, but act now. There is sufficient capital available in Germany. When obstacles arise, dialog should be actively sought in order to use new, disruptive technologies such as XR and AI.

Afterwards, there were great VR experiences at the exhibitors’ demo stations with the best views and culinary offerings.
