Collection and storage of personal data and type and purpose of their use

a) When visiting the website

When you call up our website www.vrbusiness.club, information is automatically sent to the server of our website by the browser used on your end device. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is recorded without your intervention and stored until it is automatically deleted:

– IP address of the requesting computer,
– Date and time of access,
– Name and URL of the retrieved file,
– Website from which the access takes place (referrer URL),
– the browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer and the name of your access provider.

The aforementioned data will be processed by us for the following purposes:
– Ensure a smooth connection of the website,
– Guarantee a comfortable use of our website,
– Evaluation of system security and stability and
– for other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for the data processing is Article 6 paragraph. 1 S. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our legitimate interest follows from the data collection purposes listed above.

Furthermore, we use cookies and analysis services when you visit our website. For further details, please refer to section 4 and 5 of this privacy policy.

b) When registering for our newsletter

Insofar as, pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 S. 1 lit. a DSGVO, we will use your e-mail address to send you our regular newsletter on topics, events and dates relating to virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality. To receive the newsletter, it is sufficient to provide an e-mail address. If you additionally and voluntarily provide your surname and first name as well as a company, we use these to be able to address you personally.

You can unsubscribe at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can send your unsubscribe request at any time by e-mail to info@vrbusines.club.

Double-Opt-In and Logging

The registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registration you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that nobody can register with foreign e-mail addresses.

The registrations for the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process according to the legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with MailChimp are also logged.

Erasure and restriction of processing

We may store unsubscribed email addresses for up to three years on the basis of our legitimate interests (defence of legal claims) before deleting them in order to be able to prove consent previously given. The processing of this data is limited to the purpose of a possible defence against claims.

Use of the dispatch service provider “MailChimp

Based on our legitimate interests in an efficient and secure mailing system, we use the service provider “MailChimp” of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA to send the newsletter. A description of the special security measures taken by Mailchimp can be found here: https://mailchimp.com/help/Mailchimp-european-data-transfers/.

Statistical survey and analyses

The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file which is retrieved from the server of MailChimp when opening the newsletter. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information on the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times.

The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our ambition nor that of MailChimp to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users.

The measurement of opening rates and click rates as well as the storage of the measurement results in the users’ profiles and their further processing are based on the users’ consent.

Unfortunately, a separate revocation of the performance measurement is not possible; in this case, the newsletter must be cancelled altogether. In this case, the stored profile information will be deleted.

Online access and data management

There are cases where we direct the newsletter recipients to the websites of MailChimp. For example, our newsletters contain a link with which the newsletter recipients can retrieve the newsletters online (e.g. in case of display problems in the e-mail program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can subsequently correct their data, such as the e-mail address. Likewise the privacy policy of MailChimp is only available on their site.

In this context we would like to point out that cookies are used on the websites of MailChimp and therefore personal data is processed by MailChimp, its partners and service providers (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in the privacy policy of MailChimp. We also draw your attention to the possibility to object to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).
