VR section at the Green Visions Festival Potsdam – the film festival for sustainable living!

Dear movie lovers and environmental enthusiasts,
we are pleased to announce that we are organizing the VR section of the Green Visions Festival!
In a world that is becoming increasingly aware of the importance of environmental protection and sustainability, we want to work with you to promote inspiration and change. The Green Visions Festival will take place at the Filmmuseum Potsdam from May 30 to June 2. Films on the subject of sustainability are shown here, discussions are held with scientists and innovative ideas and products are presented.
We, the VR Business Club, are also part of this important and exciting event with the VR section. The VR section of the Green Visions Festival takes place at the University of Potsdam and offers fascinating VR adventures as well as inspiring discussions on the topics of sustainability and digitalization.

Opening event on 31 May from 10am-12pm in lecture theatre H01:
Here, renowned speakers will present insights into the latest developments in extended reality (XR) and AI, as well as sustainability and environmental protection. This kick-off event will be opened by the President of the University of Potsdam, Prof. Oliver Günther, and the Festival Director of the Green Visions Festival, Dieter Kosslick, in person. The opening speeches are the prelude to subsequent talks on one of the most important topics of our time: “Sustainability and digitalization”.

Virtual reality stations in the foyer on 31 May. from 12-18 o’clock and 01.06 from 10-18 o’clock:
Ten VR stations will be available where you can watch the best films curated by the jury with the latest VR headsets. All films focus on the topic of sustainability and the conscious use of resources. They show the importance of environmentally friendly practices, renewable energy and the protection of nature for future generations. No registration is required for this part of the event.

WATER & COLTAN transports the viewer directly to the sites of the women’s struggle in artisanal coltan mining in South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Overlaid with a post-human near-future scenario of the former coal mining area in Germany, the 360° documentary connects two local sides of one and the same violent global phenomenon: the extractivist relationship to natural and human resources with its long-term consequences for the environment and society.
